Eocaudina subhexagona was named by Gutschick et al. (1967). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Holotype, UND 102; paratypes, UND 112-116; UMO E-45-18 and is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Praecaudina subhexagona by Gazdzicki et al. (1978).
