Taxonomy
Achistrum varicum was named by Boczarowski (2001). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Holotype: GIUS 4-747 Sow./683/1 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sowie Gorki Quarry, unit C, which is in a Givetian reef, buildup or bioherm rudstone/floatstone in the Kowala Formation of Poland.
