Taxonomy
Hagiastrum rudimentum was named by Carter et al. (1998). Its type locality is S8-10-QC-675 Kunga Island, which is in a Sinemurian basinal (siliciclastic) limestone/siltstone in the Sandilands Formation of Canada.
