Sphenorhynchia plicatella

Taxonomy
Terebratula plicatella was named by Sowerby (1825). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Chideock (Sowerby coll.), which is in a Bajocian marine horizon in the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Sphenorhynchia.

It was recombined as Rhynchonella plicatella by d'Orbigny (1850); it was recombined as Rhynchonella plicatilis by Davidson (1852); it was recombined as Sphenorhynchia plicatella by Buckman (1917) and Shi and Grant (1993).
