Taxonomy
Pleurotoma (Drillia) gatunensis was named by Toula (1909). It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Drillia gatunensis by Toula (1908), Brown and Pilsbry (1911), Brown and Pilsbry (1911) and Barrios (1960); it was recombined as Clathrodrillia gatunensis by Woodring (1970) and Landau and Marques da Silva (2010).
