Taxonomy
Mytilus tigrensis was named by Blanford (1870). Its type locality is Agula-Dongolo, which is in an Oxfordian open shallow subtidal limestone in the Antalo Limestone Formation of Ethiopia.
It was recombined as Falcimytilus tigrensis by Kiessling et al. (2011).
