Iguanodontipus burreyi

Taxonomy

Iguanodontipus burreyi was named by Sarjeant et al. (1998). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is BNSS 33793a, b, a footprint, and it is a trace fossil. Its type locality is Paine's Quarry, Herston, which is in a Berriasian lagoonal limestone in the Durlston Formation of the United Kingdom.

Synonyms

Therangospodus oncalensis was named by Meyer (1998) [A nomen nudum in this paper. Described by Moratalla in a thesis (1993).]. It is considered to be a form taxon. It is a trace fossil. Its type locality is Fuentesalvo tracksites, which is in a Berriasian lacustrine deltaic sandstone/marl in the Huérteles Formation of Spain.

It was synonymized subjectively with Iguanodontipus burreyi by Díaz-Martínez et al. (2015); it was recombined as Iguanodontipus oncalensis by Xing et al. (2015) and Abrahams et al. (2020).
