Vallesaurus cenensis
Taxonomy
Vallesaurus cenensis was named by Renesto and Binelli (2006) [Renesto & Binelli (2006) attribute the name to Wild (1991), but Renesto et al. (2010) state that Wild's use of the name was a nomen nudum, and thus Renesto & Binelli (2006) is the correct attribution]. Its type specimen is MCSNB 4751, a skeleton (Complete skeleton), and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Cene, Seriana Valley, which is in an Alaunian basinal (carbonate) limestone in the Zorzino Limestone Formation of Italy. It is the type species of Vallesaurus.
