Taxonomy
Formosarhynchia formosa was named by Seifert (1963). Its type locality is Oberdorf, Humphriesi Oolith, which is in a Bajocian marine horizon in the "Humphriesi Oolith" Formation of Germany. It is the type species of Formosarhynchia.
