Taxonomy
Saurolophidae was named by Prieto-Márquez and Wagner (2010) [Separate from Saurolophidae created by raising Saurolopinae Brown 1914, because this paper uses both Saurolophinae and Saurolophidae.]. Its type is Saurolophus.

It was assigned to Hadrosauridae by Prieto-Marquez and Salinas (2010) and Prieto-Márquez and Wagner (2010); to Hadrosauroidea by Prieto-Márquez (2010); and to Hadrosauridae by Prieto-Márquez (2010).
