Anningella was named by Cox (1958) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Rhae J Sine-u Sepkoski's reference number: 93,94].

It was assigned to Pterioida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Buchiidae by Vokes (1980) and Ros-Franch et al. (2014).

Synonyms
  • Anningia was named by Cox (1936). It is not extant.

    It was replaced with Anningella by Cox (1958).
