Taxonomy
Hagiastrum triassicum was named by Kozur and Mostler (1978). Its type locality is Göstling, which is in a Julian marine limestone in the Goestling Formation of Austria.

It was recombined as Triassocrucella triassicum by Kozur (1984); it was recombined as Triassocrucella triassica by Bragin (2007).
