Loxonema bella was named by Walcott (1884). It is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Bellazona.
It was recombined as Meekospira bella by Thein and Nitecki (1974); it was recombined as Bellazona bella by Gordon and Yochelson (1987) and Wagner (2023).
