Taxonomy
Badiotella was named by Bittner (1890) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Ladi Tr Carn Sepkoski's reference number: 94]. Its type is Badiotella schaurothiana.

It was assigned to Pterioida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Limidae by Vokes (1980) and Ros-Franch et al. (2014).
