Taxonomy
Bractechlamys was named by Iredale (1939) [Sepkoski's age data: Q Plei R]. It is extant. Its type is Pecten vexillum.

It was assigned to Decatopectinini by Dijkstra and Kilburn (2001); to Pterioida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Pectinidae by Todd (2001) and Rosenberg (2005).
