Taxonomy

Clathrodrillia (Buridrillia) was named by Olsson (1942). Its type is Clathrodrillia (Buridrillia) panarica.

It was reranked as Darbya (Buridrillia) by Woodring (1970); it was reranked as Buridrillia by Olsson (1942), Olsson (1964), Todd (2001) and Bouchet et al. (2011).

It was assigned to Clathrodrillia by Olsson (1942); to Drillinae by Olsson (1964); to Darbya by Woodring (1970); to Turridae by Olsson (1942) and Todd (2001); and to Pseudomelatomidae by Bouchet et al. (2011).
