It was reranked as Pecten (Camptonectes) by Trechmann (1923) and Maury (1936).

It was assigned to Pecten by Trechmann (1923) and Maury (1936); to Pterioida by Sepkoski (2002); to Camptonectinae by Bouchet et al. (2010); and to Pectinidae by Marwick (1953), Ronchetti (1970), Yamani (1983), Stilwell (1998), Kiessling (2003) and Ros-Franch et al. (2014).
