Taxonomy
Pugnax pavonine was named by Feng (1978). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Banqiao Section, Zongdi, Ziyun County, which is in a Wuchiapingian carbonate limestone in the Wujiaping Formation of China.
It was recombined as Prelissorhynchia pavonine by Clapham (2015).
