Taxonomy
Peripetoceras comploji was named by Prinoth and Posenato (2007). Its type specimen is MNS JC63 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Jmueia da Insom, Santa Cristina Val Gardena, which is in a Changhsingian shallow subtidal limestone in the Bellerophon Formation of Italy.
