Taxonomy
Ctenoides was named by Mörch (1853) [Sepkoski's age data: J Kimm R Sepkoski's reference number: 93]. It is extant.

It was reranked as Lima (Ctenoides) by Dall (1898).

It was assigned to Lima by Dall (1898); to Pterioida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Limidae by Vokes (1973), Vokes (1980), Beu et al. (1990), Lamprell and Whitehead (1992), Todd (2001) and Beu (2006).
