Cuneigervillia was named by Cox (1954) [Sepkoski's age data: J Hett-l K l Sepkoski's reference number: 715]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Pterioida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Bakevelliidae by Marquez-Aliaga et al. (2010) and Ros-Franch et al. (2014).
