Taxonomy
Cyclochlamys was named by Finlay (1926) [Sepkoski's age data: T Mi-l-u R Sepkoski's reference number: 899]. It is extant. Its type is Pecten transenna.

It was reranked as Cyclopecten (Cyclochlamys) by Laws (1939).

It was assigned to Cyclopecten by Laws (1939); to Pterioida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Propeamussiidae by Beu et al. (1990) and Spencer et al. (2004).
