Astarte nebrascensis was named by Geinitz (1866). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Edmondia nebraskensis by Mark (1912); it was recombined as Edmondia nebrascensis by Frech (1911), Muromtseva and Guskov (1984) and Fang (1987).
