Taxonomy
Permastraea nevadensis was named by Stevens (2010). Its type specimen is USNM 531328 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is SJS-608, Fortification Range, which is in an Artinskian open shallow subtidal limestone in the Arcturus Formation of Nevada.
