Rhopalodictyum trammeri was named by Kozur and Mostler (1978). Its type locality is Göstling, which is in a Julian marine limestone in the Goestling Formation of Austria.
It was recombined as Paronaella trammeri by Tekin (1999); it was recombined as Homoeoparonaella trammeri by Wang et al. (2002).
