Crassostrea (Heterostrea) was named by Jaworski (1913). It is not extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Myoconcha by Jaworski (1951) and Cox et al. (1971); it was reranked as Heterostrea by Sepkoski (2002).

It was assigned to Crassostrea by Jaworski (1913); and to Pterioida by Sepkoski (2002).
