Taxonomy
Caletaster barremicus was named by Villier (2010). Its type specimen is MPUP VILL016 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Locality 1, Serre de Bleyton, which is in a Barremian slope marl/limestone in France.

Villier 2010 | A species of Caletaster with a distinctive proximal/distal profile of the marginal ossicles, the external face being slightly sunken on its adradial margin and arched at its abradial side. Associated with this profile, the outline of the body margin is flat or slightly depressed. Ornament of dense fine granule pits, associated in some ossicles with tiny rounded tubercles. Pedicellariae unknown. |
