Taxonomy
Cancellaria moorei was named by Guppy (1866) [DISTRIBUTION: Early Pliocene; Jamaica.]. Its type specimen is BMNH G 64068, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Cancellaria (Bivetopsis) moorei by Woodring (1928); it was recombined as Cancellaria (Bivetopsia) moorei by Jung and Petit (1990) and Landau et al. (2007).
