Taxonomy
Pecten (Pecten) bosei was named by Hanna and Hertlein (1927) [TYPE SPECIMEN: First syntype listed.]. Its type specimen is CAS 2215, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Patinopecten bosei by Quiroz-Barroso and Perrilliat (1989); it was recombined as Flabellipecten bosei by Moore (1984) and Powell (2008).
