Lucina spherica was named by Dall and Ochsner (1928). It is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Loripinus (Pegophysema) spherica by Dall and Pilsbry (1941); it was recombined as Anodontia (Lissosphaira) spherica by Olsson (1961); it was recombined as Anodontia spherica by Hertlein (1972).
