Taxonomy
Lucina sericata was named by Reeve (1850). It is extant.

It was recombined as Diplodonta serricata by Emerson and Chace (1959); it was recombined as Felaniella (Zemysia) sericata by Keen (1971); it was recombined as Felaniella sericata by DeVries and Wells (1990); it was recombined as Diplodonta sericata by Coan et al. (2000) and Coan and Valentich-Scott (2012); it was recombined as Diplodonta (Felaniella) sericata by Hendy (2021).
