Taxonomy
Lutraria (Cryptodon) nuttallii was named by Conrad (1837). It is extant.

It was recombined as Schizothaerus nuttalli by Conrad (1855), Ashley (1895) and Valentine (1957); it was recombined as Schizothaerus nuttallii by Henderson (1931) and Woodring and Bramlette (1950); it was recombined as Tresus nuttalli by Addicott (1966); it was recombined as Tresus nuttallii by Coan et al. (2000), Moore (2003) and Hendy (2021).
