Taxonomy
Spisula granti was named by Wiedey (1928). Its type specimen is SDSNH 40, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Crassatellites granti by Loel and Corey (1932); it was recombined as Crassatella granti by Moore (2002).
