Taxonomy
Strenuella calceola was named by Cobbold (1931). Its type specimen is J. 12902, an exoskeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Comley Quarry, Comley, which is in a Branchian carbonate limestone in the Lower Comley Formation of the United Kingdom.
