Wadispirifer ravana
Taxonomy
Spirifer ravana was named by Diener (1897). Its type specimen is GSI 6195 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kiunglung Camp, SW of Niti Pass, which is in a Wuchiapingian marine shale in the Productus Shale Formation of India.
It was recombined as Neospirifer ravana by Waterhouse (1966), Zhang and Jin (1976), Lee and Gu (1980) and Jin and Sun (1981); it was recombined as Wadispirifer ravana by Waterhouse (2004) and Waterhouse and Chen (2007).
