Taxonomy
Leda orcutti was named by Arnold (1908). Its type specimen is USNM 165271, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Nuculana orcutti by Grant and IV and Gale (1931); it was recombined as Nuculana (Saccella) orcutti by Moore (1983); it was recombined as Saccella orcutti by Woodring and Bramlette (1950) and Hendy (2020).
