Taxonomy
Ostrea corteziensis was named by Hertlein (1951). It is extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Crassostrea columbiensis by Moore (1987) and Coan et al. (2000); it was recombined as Crassostrea corteziensis by Raith et al. (2016).
