Archivesica gibbera

Taxonomy
Calyptogena gibbera was named by Crickmay (1929). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is LACMIP loc. 30252, Deadman's Island [Timms Point Silt], which is in a Pleistocene coastal horizon in the Timms Point Silt Formation of California.

It was recombined as Phraegena gibbera by Woodring (1938); it was recombined as Calyptogena (Calyptogena) gibbera by Squires (1991); it was recombined as Vesicomya (Calyptogena) gibbera by Coan et al. (2000); it was recombined as Archivesica gibbera by Hendy (2021).

Synonyms
  • Phreagena lasia was named by Woodring (1938). Its type specimen is USNM 496097 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is 3rd Street tunnel, which is in a Pliocene coastal shale in the Fernando Formation of California.

    It was synonymized subjectively with Calyptogena (Calyptogena) gibbera by Squires (1991).
