Cypellospongia fimbriartis

Taxonomy
Cypellospongia fimbriartis was named by Rigby and Gosney (1983). Its type specimen is BYU1992 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Thaynes Ridge, Beartrap Fork, Big Cottonwood Creek, Wasatch Mountains, which is in a Spathian shallow subtidal limestone in the Thaynes Formation of Utah. It is the type species of Cypellospongia.
