Taxonomy
Flemingites russelli was named by Smith (1904). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Wood Canyon, Aspen Range, which is in a Smithian carbonate limestone in the Thaynes Formation of Idaho.
It was recombined as Anaflemingites russelli by Jenks et al. (2010).
