Taxonomy
Orthothetina azarjani was named by Kotlyar (1989). Its type specimen is TsNIGR 17/12540 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Dorasham 2, Bed 9, which is in a Capitanian marine horizon in the Khachik Formation of Azerbaijan.
