Taxonomy
Fandasterias facetus was named by Blake (1995). Its type specimen is Holotype TCD.42709, Trinity College, Dublin and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Hook Head, Wesford Co, which is in an Ivorian marine sandstone in the Hook head Formation of Ireland. It is the type species of Fandasterias.
