Lopingoceras lopingense

Taxonomy
Orthoceras lopingense was named by Stoyanow (1910). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Araxes River canyon, bed 7, which is in a Wuchiapingian marine marl in the Julfa Formation of Azerbaijan.

It was recombined as Lopingoceras lopingense by Teichert and Kummel (1973), Zhao et al. (1978), Zheng (1984), Liang (1984) and Shimanskiy (1996).
