Taxonomy
Nannites hindostanus was named by Diener (1897). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is South of Muth (Otoceras beds), which is in an Induan marine horizon in India.

It was recombined as Jinyaceras hindostanum by Brühwiler et al. (2010) and Brühwiler et al. (2012).
