Taxonomy
Penniretepora solita was named by Gorjunova and Morozova (1979). Its type specimen is PIN 2287/383 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Dzamyn-Ude Mountain, 30 km WSW, Burin-Obo, which is in a Sakmarian/Artinskian marine horizon in the Totoshan Formation of Mongolia.
It was recombined as Filites solita by Morozova (2001).
