Cristonasus was named by Surkov (1999). It is not extant. Its type is Cristonasus koltaeviensis.
It was assigned to Kannemeyeridae by Tverdokhlebov et al. (2003); and to Sinokannemeyeriinae by Ivakhnenko (2008).
