Hippopotamus laloumena
Taxonomy
Hippopotamus laloumena was named by Faure and Guerin (1990) [mandible on exhibit in the Musee de l'Academie malgache]. Its type specimen is no specimen number listed, a mandible, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Fompona, which is in a Holocene terrestrial horizon in Madagascar.
