Taxonomy
Tipula latahensis was named by Lewis (1969). Its type specimen is UC Boulder BP 18b, a wing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Brick Pit, Spokane, which is in a Langhian lacustrine - small mudstone in the Latah Formation of Washington.
