Taxonomy
Apistoconcha praesiphonalis was named by Parkhaev (1998). Its type specimen is PIN 4664/70, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is HG02, Horse Gully, Stansbury Basin, Yorke Peninsula, which is in a Botomian carbonate packstone in the Parara Limestone Formation of Australia.
