Taxonomy
Myobradypterygius hauthali was named by von Huene (1927). It is not extant. Its type locality is Cerro Belgrano, which is in a Barremian coastal sandstone in the Rio Belgrano Formation of Argentina.
It was recombined as Platypterygius hauthali by McGowan (1972), McGowan (1972), Maisch and Matzke (2000), McGowan and Motani (2003), Fernandez and Aguirre-Urreta (2005), Maisch (2010), Pérez et al. (2015) and Ji et al. (2016).
